The ship also had some positive features - a good solution was to bring all the ropes under the walking deck. Sunbeds with sufficient space were placed on the deck before entering the cabins, which was very comfortable. The size of the ship provided a fairly large saloon and spacious cabins, which was excellent. It is a pity that the cabins were low and it was not possible to straighten in them. She was also pleased with the new and complete set of tools for minor repairs, which were the order of the day (they probably knew why they put it there). Overall, I rate the D & D Kufner 54 Cabernet I as an ideal vessel for a stay in a marina for drinking drinks from a less demanding clientele.

I would divide my observations into three categories: 1. Charter company I perceive as a problem that according to the order we should have the ship Cabernet (https://www.boataround.com/en/lod/d-and-d-kufner-54 -cabernet). Instead, the Cabernet I was handed over to us, which had only the basic hull in common with the originally ordered ship. Each ship also had a different home port. We did not pick up the ship until 18:00. Bed linen was not made, but we paid € 250 under the Transit Log. When taking over the ship, we were told in the office of the charter company that we could return the ship on Friday by 18:00 to catch the diver (info from Boataround was that until 19:00). During a phone call around 5:30 pm, we learned that the diver was no longer available and the boat would not be taken over by us. Fortunately, we agreed with the manager to take over without a diver. 2. The ship itself and its construction The ship itself showed significant signs of wear. Compared to ships of other companies of the same age 4 years. Controlling the ship was very difficult for the helmsman over 170 CM. Biminy when stretched was really only for lower figures. If the bimini was lowered, the helmsman struck the back of the head with the back of his head. The ideal steering was in a standing position in front of the rudder, which, however, is unusable when sailing on sails. The entire wheelhouse, right and left, swayed significantly and their attachment is insufficient. The plotter in front of the rudder is also made of cheap plywood with sharp corners. The wood forming the walking part of the deck was crumbling, various splintered parts and grooves protruded in several places. The construction of the ladder on the mirror was fastened with short screws to the mirror directly into the plastic. Therefore, the ladder did not hold on to the mirror and was practically unusable. When boarding the ship, the crew had to rely purely on their own or help each other through the dingy boat. Unlike the ordered Cabernet, the Cabernet I had a folding mirror. However, this mirror was fastened with four small screws measuring 60x4.0. The grip on one side broke off after two days. The screws were hardened and, according to the surface treatment, were not suitable at all for the salty air conditions at sea. During the sailing in the wind, there was a significant lack of a block for closing the foot while steering. The propeller was placed just in front of the rudder blade, which caused difficult control of the ship while driving the engine at 1/3 of engine power. During maneuvering in the harbor and bushes, the bow truster's performance proved to be absolutely insufficient. The ship's engine resembled the engine of a Soviet Zil truck. It was very noisy, creating quite noticeable vibrations. Valves knocked. Depending on the amount of smoke during operation, it probably did not even meet the emission requirements. Maybe he could be helped by the settings. The transmission only took some time. In particular, the reverse indicated that the transmission had already had its glory days. There was a relatively strong blow as reverse gear was engaged. The interior of the ship showed signs of strong leakage around the windows and in the construction behind the captain's bridge. During one rainy night, I woke up as water dripped from the deck onto my hand through a closed window. The window on the rear right cabin was detached from the structure and its opening meant that the window fell out. The overall processing of the windows was very rough. A few more details: - the holder was missing - the helmsman's handle in front of the helmsman - the navigation was misplaced - it was in front of the right rudder on the original ship - missing deck fence - low battery capacity - discharge after one night - two separate water tanks without the possibility connection of the tank on the right side to the kitchen circuit - result: driving from the right tank filled to 90% and a minute tank on the left side with the kitchen ... practical unusability of the right tank - loose left spiral and unsecured tightening screw fitting - rear shower - hose placement under valve - every movement of the hose during the shower closed or adjusted the valve - missing emergency ladder When we glanced at other D&D Kufner boats (eg the mentioned Cabertnet or https://www.boataround.com/en/lod/d-and-d- kufner-54-marietta), so they had details handled completely differently. Obviously this was their worst product. I do not recommend choosing a boat for a cruise. It is ideal to cover the deck with a tent from the rain.
