Boataround offers online yacht booking system through our own website as well as through other online platforms such as partners’ websites and social media. Your privacy is important to us and we really mean it. We always act in our customers’ interest and we are clear and transparent about our process of your personal data and here we describe how we use and process your personal data.

We might amend the Privacy Statement from time to time, if you do care visit this page regularly and you’ll know exactly where you stand. If we make changes to the Privacy Statement which will have an impact on you (for example such as GDPR), we will notify you of these changes before the new activities begin. What kind of personal data does Boataround collect?

This is usual stuff – your name, preferred contact details and any other important information regarding your holiday (for example your arrival time to the marina, so the boat will be ready for you).

You can also be asked to provide a review to help other sailors guests get exactly what they’re looking for. We will collect information from you included in your reviews, including your name and content of your review. In addition to this, we also collect information from your computer, phone, tablet or other device you are using to access our services. This might include the IP address, currency preferences, the browser you use, and your language settings. All this is to help us to customize our site, so you find everything easily.

Depending on the reservation, we may also ask for your address, telephone number, payment information, date of birth, the names of guest sailing with you. Please make sure your guests travelling with you are aware of this.

There are also situations in which we receive information about you from others or automatically, for example from our partners you might be in contact with. Our services might be integrated with other travel partners as well to make the whole yacht booking system available in every country.

Why does Boataround collect and use your personal data?

We want you to have a perfect and stress-free holiday, so when you use Boataround we make sure we understand how we might contact you or how can we help by making sure your holiday will be well planned, for example asking for crew list so you don’t have to queue in the marina, filling this information last minute

We also might collect your information understanding which language you speak and what’s the best way of contacting you. Another example why we collect data is marketing, where we want to show our content as relevant for you as possible or keep you updated with the best sailing deals around.

You might hear from us, sending you fresh post from our blog, or sharing vouchers for your next holidays. Just before your sail off we might send you some tips to visits or avoid and essential information about your upcoming trip, for example marina information. You can unsubscribe from the our newsletter at any time. If for any reason the unsubscribe option is not available, please contact us directly on info@boataround.com.

We might share this information to the relevant third parties. The primary purpose is to process your yacht reservation, share your data relevant for your sailing holiday, or validating the correctness (for example email address you provided during the reservation). Any third-party service providers are bound by confidentiality clauses and are not allowed to use your personal data for other purposes than instructed by us. When you make a reservation on a business partners’ website, please also take the time to read their privacy notice if you wish to understand how these business partners may process your personal data.

When you use the credit card to make your reservation, we need to share certain reservation details with the payment service provider and the relevant financial institution to handle this payment

We might need to disclose personal data with Competent authorities, to law enforcement authorities as it is required by law or is strictly necessary for the prevention, detection or prosecution of criminal acts or fraud or if we are otherwise legally obliged to do so. We may need to further disclose personal data to competent authorities to protect and defend our rights or the rights of our business partners

What security do Boataround place to keep your personal data safe?

Boataround.com, a.s. controls the processing of personal data as described in this Privacy Statement. We are a private limited liability company, incorporated under the laws of Slovak Republic

We never print your persona data or store them offline. Everything is encrypted on our serves and only limited number of people have access to this data. We use appropriate business systems and procedures to protect and safeguard the personal data you give us

We also use security procedures and technical and physical restrictions for accessing and using the personal data on our servers. Only authorized personnel are permitted to access personal data during their work.

How can you control the personal data you have given to Boataround?

You can request an overview of your personal data by emailing on info@boataround.com. You can always inform us of any changes to your personal data, or you can ask us to correct any of the personal data we hold about you, or you may be able to make such changes yourself via your personal accoun

In most situations, you can ask us to erase, or block or restrict the processing of, the personal data we hold about you.

How does Boataround process communications with other parties?

For or our partners we provide online system where we keep all information stored and we only disclose as much as is necessary for them to take care of your sailing holiday. For example, when sailing authorities are requesting to see your sailing license we make sure this is done.

We will retain your personal data for as long as we think it necessary to enable you to use our services, to provide our services to you (including maintaining the online user account, to comply with applicable laws, resolve disputes with any parties and otherwise as necessary to allow us to conduct our business).
