Yachts for hire in Split Region

A yacht charter in Split Region starts on Croatia's central Dalmatian coast, where Šolta, Brač and the Drvenik islands sit near the main mainland bases. Crews can choose a short first passage or shape a week around Hvar, the Pakleni Islands and Vis. Among yacht charters in Croatia, the region is especially useful for travellers comparing several departure clusters served by the same airport.

The cruising ground works for qualified bareboat skippers, groups booking a skipper and families keeping a Šolta–Brač plan flexible. May, June and September offer warmth with less berth pressure. The key compromise is commitment: nearby islands leave more fallback options, while Vis and Biševo require open-water passages and a sensible return margin.

Charter Options in Split Region

A bareboat booking leaves route and timing with a qualified skipper. It is best for crews familiar with stern-to mooring, ferry traffic, charted shoals and revising plans when bura or jugo changes the forecast. Send the operator the actual skipper and radio certificates before payment; Croatian acceptance depends on the document, vessel and authorised navigation limits.

With a skippered charter, a professional takes responsibility for navigation, handling and day-to-day safety, which helps on a short Hvar holiday or a first visit. A skipper does not automatically mean a host, cook or meals are included. Additional crew is offer-specific. Main Charter Bases and Sailing Areas

Split and ACI Marina Split

Split yacht charters suit crews adding a city stay or arriving by long-distance bus or ferry. ACI Marina Split provides shore facilities and direct access towards Šolta and western Brač, but it lies inside a busy commercial harbour. Follow the marked approach and ferry movements, and avoid planning an ambitious island leg after a late handover.

Trogir and Seget

Trogir yacht charters start closer to Split Airport than Split city. Boats use several marinas in Trogir and neighbouring Seget, including Marina Baotić and ACI Marina Trogir, so verify the handover address. This western position suits Drvenik Veli, Maslinica and Šešula, but the marked approach, shoals and bridge limits demand careful pilotage.

Marina Kaštela

Marina Kaštela sits in sheltered Kaštela Bay between Split and Trogir, with fuel, technical support and provisioning at the base. It is a practical compromise for flight arrivals and balanced routes towards Šolta, Milna or Hvar. Allow time to leave the bay and round Čiovo or Marjan rather than treating its mainland position as an immediate island start.

Choosing the island route

A flexible week can link Maslinica or another Šolta stop with Milna on Brač, then continue to Hvar, Stari Grad or the Pakleni Islands. Adding Vis or Biševo raises the passage commitment and leaves fewer easy shortcuts home. Preserve a weather day, select coves for the forecast wind direction and do not force every named island into a seven-night charter.

Practical Sailing Information for Split Region

May, June and September provide a strong mix of warmth, operating services and flexible routing. July and August place the most pressure on quays, berths and buoy fields, so reserve essential stops while keeping alternatives. April and early October remain possible, but shorter daylight, variable weather and seasonal services weaken a rigid outer-island plan. For route planning, see Boataround’s seven-day itinerary from Split.

The summer maestral commonly develops from the north-west or west. The north-easterly bura can produce abrupt, uneven gusts near the mainland and island channels, while south-easterly jugo may build a longer sea. Check the DHMZ Central Adriatic forecast and warnings throughout the charter. Use current Croatian Hydrographic Institute charts, radio warnings and Notices to Mariners alongside the onboard plotter.

Inner routes among Šolta, western Brač and Hvar give competent crews more opportunities to shorten a day, but close-set islands do not make every passage easy. Split harbour has intensive traffic; the Trogir approach has shallow sectors and bridge constraints; several Hvar and Šolta coves are exposed from particular directions. Choose a harbour or bay for that day's forecast, draught and approach, not its reputation alone.

Use established marinas, town quays, authorised buoy fields or suitable anchorages under current charted and local rules. Check bathing areas, underwater cables, concession limits and harbour instructions before dropping anchor. A Blue Cave visit at Biševo is weather-dependent and transferred to authorised small craft when operating; the charter yacht cannot enter the protected cave. Split Airport serves buses to Split and Trogir, but summer road traffic requires a transfer buffer.

Match the mainland base to the first and last passages: Split for city access, Trogir and Seget for western routes and a shorter airport transfer, or Kaštela for a sheltered service base between them. Filter the current results by dates, one of the six verified boat types and bareboat or skippered format, then check qualifications, crew inclusions, fuel, deposit, berth plan and compulsory extras.
