After booking, the pick-up location was changed to another location, which meant an extra hour of travel time. The pick-up was an unpleasant act. I have never had such discussions when picking up the boat. The contractually agreed deposit was increased by €500 on site. Even after consulting Boataround, they insisted on this, which made my deposit insurance void. Equipment that had been ordered in advance was not delivered, e.g. WiFi. The friendliness and service mentality of the Eastern European employees on site is unpleasant. No vacation trip should start like this. On the other hand, it was dangerous that important elements of the yacht were not mentioned during the technical pick-up of the boat. This meant that when the sails were taken in and the wind was over 20kt, the engine would not start when approaching the marina. This was because the yacht was running on the reserve tank, which we knew nothing about and for which there is no fuel gauge. Only thanks to a video call with the SAYSAIL technicians was the tank able to be switched to the main tank and the engine started again - a real moment of horror that I would not want to subject any skipper to. The marina in Fetiye where the boat is picked up is actually just a jetty with two containers for a shower and toilet. Supermarkets for stocking up on food can only be reached by taxi and unfortunately, due to the time-consuming handover, the delivery in the evening did not work out. I will not charter a boat from SAYSAIL again.
