We chartered a Bavaria C38 (2024) and overall had a very positive experience. The yacht itself is in excellent condition — practically new and very well maintained. All sailing equipment works perfectly. One important detail: the jib is self-tacking, so if you are looking to practice fine sail trimming specifically with the jib, this might be a limitation. However, for most crews, this actually makes sailing easier and more enjoyable. The layout is very comfortable. The forward cabin is especially impressive — very spacious for a 38-foot yacht, which is a big advantage. The aft cabins are slightly smaller but still comfortable. The saloon is also large and well designed. The owner clearly put a lot of thought into the boat. There is good lighting throughout, heating (Webasto), air conditioning, and even an additional top-loading fridge. The yacht is perfectly suitable for a crew of six people to feel comfortable and relaxed during the whole trip. A special mention goes to the owner, Sezgi. You can read different reviews about him, but in our experience he is a great professional and a very fair person. He knows his boats extremely well and is always available if you need help or advice. If something doesn’t work or you have any questions, you can just message him and he will respond. Two important tips: • Respect the timing he sets. If he says check-in is at 5 pm, it will be at 5 pm. If he asks you to return by a certain time, it’s important to follow that. He is very precise — but also always keeps his own promises. • Contact him in advance. As soon as you receive his contact details from Boataround, write to him and confirm all details about arrival, crew, and the boat. It makes everything much smoother. During our charter, we had a couple of small accidental damages. We informed Sezgi immediately, and he handled everything calmly and charged a very fair price for repairs — which we really appreciated. Another big advantage: the owner takes care of waste tank emptying, blue card, and refueling himself. This saves a lot of time and stress on the last day, so you can actually enjoy more time sailing instead of waiting at the fuel dock. Overall, we highly recommend both this yacht and the owner. Very professional, very convenient, and a great experience.
