4 Poor
It served as a good platform for the young members of the family who were on board.
Issues with Falcon: 1. Honda outboard engine which we had rented from the charter company as an extra, kept cutting out & it looked from the state of the spark plug which was rusted in, that it had not been serviced for ages. We had to swap it for the 3hp on the second inflatable which I had hired as an extra. Also propeller pitch was too large which meant that it only generated about 3hp when it did work 2. Both batteries losing power - down to 11.4 volts etc = having to turn off fridges. 3. Main sheet strop & shackle broke under in Force 4 winds so needs replacing - although the set up is really poor & will break again if sailed in >F4 winds. The Falcon handbook which was on board, shows a block attached to the boom, which is led down to the blocks on the roof deck. On this Lagoon 40 it was led through a strop which was clearly not man enough to cope with modest F4 breezes! Compensation for the unreliable outboard for which I paid euros 80.
