The charter company has everything well organized and taking over and handing over the boat is problem-free.
The ship Angel was in bad technical condition. The biggest problem was that the ship lacked suitable tools, the tool case was completely empty, so it was not possible to fix the technical deficiencies. At the same time, spare fuses were missing, so when the anchor fell out, it was not possible to replace the fuse, but it was also impossible to do a bypass without tools. Also, the locking screw on the rudder got stuck and we had to buoy with the stuck rudder, as there was no key with which we could release the stem. We had to borrow it from the mariner. The highlight was that the engine was dripping diesel and the area under the engine/bed in the rear cabin was flooded, so the smell of diesel could be felt in the cabin and it was unusable. In any case, we have reported these problems to the charter company, so we trust that they will fix the boat. Even though the boat is relatively new, it is only 4 years old, it is quite shabby - e.g. insect screens were missing from many windows. But the charter company was very helpful and accommodating and they tried to solve and compensate for these shortcomings.
