Good and well-prepared (!) check-in; the formalities were completed the day before, so all this was no longer necessary for the handover. A professional marina with extensive and functional facilities.
Unfortunately, after her second season, the Darling is pretty worn out; she's missing a thousand little things. The bow thruster gave up on the morning of departure and couldn't be repaired. The locks on the lockers, cushions, and drawers are worn out; one drawer in the galley completely ripped out of its guide while sailing. The teak deck is worn out. The electrics are doing their own thing in places, the plotter is throwing out MOB messages that aren't even there, the underwater lighting is playing like a disco party. The rudder system is worn out, the lines are sometimes completely tangled, the block of the self-tacking jib is twisting in until it's blocked. The bathing platform squeaks deafeningly when lowered, waking up the entire marina. The list goes on – none of it life-threatening, but at times very annoying and frustrating when you're out on the water. What a shame about an otherwise beautiful boat!
