Elena from Seagma Yachting helped me with a lot of informations. A good experience with this charter company. If I return to this area, I will choose the same charter company.
The owner/ manager, Elena, was a nice individual, and I had no issue with her personally. Upon arrival (check-in), all guest were presented with a chilled bottle of water — which was nice gesture.
As a whole, there are multiple points of improvements that Seagma Yachting & Services need to make: Firstly - the overall communication and organisation. I reached out to the company multiple times prior to arriving in Greece to arrange a loose itinerary. Understandably, I was advised by our Skipper that routes are weather dependent and I should get in contact a week beforehand when he could give informed advice. When I tried to reach out a week before departure, I was then told to discuss when we got to the marina. When we arrived at the marina (day of charter), we were informed that the route would be decided daily. This meant that we had very little control or contribution to our itinerary, with our skipper sailing where they liked for the most part. We docked in multiple quiet marinas/locations with not much to do. A big part of chartering a boat is being able to tailor your experience, this approach left us feeling like we didn't get the most out of our trip. This poor communication, unfortunately, extended beyond the trivial. Alarmingly, there was also no communication of basic safety information or emergency procedures prior to departure. We were expecting a short run-through of how things work in case of emergency and where things are, similar to on an airplane, but we received no information our entire trip (even upon request to the Skipper). This was especially concerning as all bar one of our passengers were first time boat passengers and a few had only very basic swimming skills (all communicated repeatedly to the company). Briefing passengers prior to departure should be basic health and safety procedure. Secondly - payment methods. They didn't accept my credit card for the deposit, which meant my current account had to be debited — something I was reluctant to do for security purposes. I personally believe that if you're chartering a boat with a skipper that they provide then the deposit amount should be less than if you're renting it without, to reflect the reduced risk of damage. I also believe that they should be more accepting of debit/credit payments. To expect people to carry 1000's or EURs worth of cash around with them to pay the additional at-port fees isn't reasonable as it puts the customer in quite a vulnerable position. With card payments being so widely available, it is definitely something they should offer. Lastly - the cleanliness and general maintenance of the boat. This was substandard at best. Especially as they charge a 250EUR cleaning fee. As my images show, the boat and the 'clean' towels and bed linen provided were not* clean at all. (Blood) stains, mould, hair in the sinks, layers of dust, broken cutlery and kitchen appliances (eg. kettle without a lid, moka without a handle etc). This really isn't good and quite cheeky to be charged a cleaning fee when it has clearly not been cleaned in a long time. The skipper also mentioned how much of the boat equipment (i.e. ropes) were old and worn out, in need of replacement. I would not recommend you use their services unless significant improvements are made. I've attached photos of negatives mentioned in my google review.

The boat is not new but in a reasonable good shape. Elena and Kostas are kind and very helpful. They answer calls even during the night, for instance when we needed to urgently know how to stop the very loud low-charge emergency alarm of the service battery at midnight (we could certainly have been able to stop it by ourselves if the equipment manuals would have been provided onboard as is usually the case on rental boats). The port is well situated at the West of Athens, which allows you to avoid the traffic of big tankers and commercial boats, but also of other rental boats which all go to Alimos marina.
While Elena and Kostas are always keen to assist you, the charter company processes are a bit messy. For instance, I had to pay for reinstalling a reef rope which escaped in the boom after the knot that they made at the rear end of the boom opened itself while sailing in medium wind - a proper reef knot should obviously not open by itself while sailing. Also, there was no formal checkout procedure, which would have otherwise avoided me to come back home by mistakenly bringing in my bag the official crew list paper (which is mandatory to have on board the boat in Greece). Things to improve include: batteries cannot be properly charged by the boat engines which forces you to visit ports every nights if you want to use the fridge; no technical boat documents on the boat which prevents from properly understanding the equipment usage and from fixing simple equipment issues without calling the charter company; damaged paddle rented 130€ per week but that deflates in one day and that must be re-inflated every day; coffee maker for maximum 2 people while the boat can host 10 people; no formal checkout procedure. The boat is otherwise good, we had a very nice experience with our friends, and Elena and Kostas are very kind and helpful.
The responsiveness of the charter company and the yacht's condition.
