Lagoon 380 S2 | Zen

The catamaran was not clean and in poor overall condition. Blankets were dirty and needed replacing. Two sheets had (blood?) stains. The automatic life jackets and outboard motor we ordered weren't there and had to be repaired. One of the electric toilets didn't work and had to be repaired. We didn't finish the boat until around 8 p.m., which was too late for us to set sail. The generator failed, and a technician arrived. We lost another half day; and in the end, it couldn't be repaired. Instead, we were paid for a night in a marina.

AC was a little noisy and also needs a air vent duct check. Some mattresses needs a refresh and some hatch seals replaced. This nice, modern and clean Lefkas D-Marin reealy needs to improve the refeuling management.

While the boat's maintenance could be a consideration, it's important to remember that issues can arise with older vessels.

The dinghy’s outboard motor had some issues, e.g. (1) it would stall every now and then, especially when you try to slow down; (2) no reverse function; (3) the weekly rental of the outboard is equal to the market price of similar-condition second-hand outboard motors. The shower hose is just 4-5 cm short and cannot be attached to the handle on the wall.

Overall I thought Lefkas a well equipped marina, however as a MAJOR word of warning to anyone considering chartering out of there. We were returning from a 2 week charter on a Friday, arrived at 1630 to find around 1-200 boats all trying to refuel at the same time from the fuel berth. jostling for position (aka pushing in) in 15 kt cross winds. I knew our tanks were full (Had refilled the day before and been sailing rather than motoring most of the day), but was not allowed to enter the Marina/be allocated a berth until I'd been to the fuel berth. After two hours of complete chaos witnessing at least three collisions (One a multi-boat pile up as someone decided to just motor through the middle of everyone) I eventually managed to get onto the Fuel berth and squeeze 15 litres into the 400 litre tank (I'd probably used 8 of those litres holding position for the previous two hours). The situation could have been massively improved with just a little organisation from the marina staff (1 guy in a rib keeping order), but they didn't care - and just said "It's like this every week". The poor skipper due on the berth after me managed to lose his bow thrusters (I presume thermal cut-out due to overuse) and wasn't able to control his boat in such confined quarters. He asked if he could raft-up until I'd completed paperwork - Marina staff wouldn't let him and told him he had to go out and start again. (I decided to treat it effectively as a Pan Pan, ignored them and let him raft and get alongside after us anyway). I could go on, but I have never seen anything like it, and hope never to again. If you are chartering out of Lefkas, please make sure either - your charter company will allow you to refuel in Nidri before arrival (Some will I found out afterwards). Or ensure you get back before lunchtime on the Friday.
